Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time

I played the game ages ago and it was fun. I have seen a few films based on video games (Mario Bros, Doom, Street Fighter, Final Fantasy)and they were ok, but this one I gotta say beat them, while all the others left me feeling ‘eh’, this one had me full of energy and wanting to see it again.  Lets start by just giving brief thoughts on it,

• outstanding costumes
• pretty authentic weaponry
• visually stunning scenery
• amazingly choreographed fighting scenes
• superb action
• well placed comedy moments

Basically I loved this film, like a lot of game adapted films the story differs from the game, but the acrobatic of the Prince stay true to form, the Prince leaps around buildings in the film in the same way he does in the game. My only critique, well more of a confusion really, is the era this is set in, there are references to a few eras, so that kind of confused me, but still did not let me enjoy it any less.

Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) adopted by the King of Persia is wrongly accused of his murder.  Dastan flees and tries to prove his innocence, followed by the Princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) helping him at the same trying to take back the Dagger Of Time from him.

One of the things I love about this film is the action never stops, a lot of action/adventure films tend to have lulls when the action stops, not so with this one, its packed with action, comedy, a bit of romance, drama and a whole load of energy.  Go see it, it has to be seen on a big screen to get the full effects, but it will still be good on a smaller screen.  My verdict is top-notch action/adventure, best game adaptation I have seen so far.
